Meet Magento Poland 2018

One of the remarkable aspects of the Magento community lies in its inclusivity, enabling individuals from across the globe to contribute to the documentation, development, codebase, user support, and educational initiatives surrounding Magento. This fosters a boundless realm of possibilities for creative contributions within the Magento ecosystem, ranging from coding innovations to mentorship and training for budding Magento developers. What sets these awards apart is that they are not exclusively reserved for individuals directly employed by Magento.

The Magento Masters awards program was established in 2014 to honour such exceptional individuals, recognizing their invaluable contributions across three distinct categories: Movers, Mentors, and Makers. Given the vast ecosystem of contributors within the Magento community, the number of Magento Masters awards is limited. To highlight the outstanding efforts of a broader range of contributors, a supplementary list of the top 50 contributors was introduced. This list shines a spotlight on those who have made substantial contributions to the Magento forum, codebase, documentation, and events.

What do the Magento Awards mean?

The awards are given to people who:

  • Have made significant contributions to the Magento community,
  • Added documentation, tutorials, and engaged in forum discussion,
  • Worked on bugs, mentorship, training, and
  • Promoted and evangelized Magento or organized Magento events

These awards are unique to Magento — no other e-commerce platform has such an award system, nor an open source community of this scale.

What do the Magento Awards do?

  • Bring recognition and attention to contributors who have given up lots of time and effort to improve Magento
  • Increase opportunities for people who might not be employed by agencies to participate and get involved

Although Magento is a private company, it’s an open network of developers, designers, researchers and commerce managers creating an ecosystem of knowledge sharing and open coding. Rather than focusing on where the code comes from, Magento aims to produce the best products and solutions possible. This is only possible by tapping into the diverse talents of people around the world.

Snowdog & the Magento Awards

The Snowdog team has been consistently named on Magento’s top contributor and masters lists. Kuba Zwoliński, CEO and founder of Snowdog has been awarded a Magento Master title for 4 consecutive years, while Bartek Igielski (front-end developer) and Marta Molińska (Event manager) have been listed on the top 50 contributors.

We’re grateful for this recognition, because open source is a core part of Snowdog’s work — we strongly encourage knowledge sharing and believe that it’s really the best way to create the best possible software solutions.

Additionally, Kuba’s new role as Board Director of the newly created Magento Association (formerly vice-president of Meet Magento Association), allows him to shape how the Magento community interacts, help promote Magento to developers and business leaders, and encourage the open source community to rally around Magento.

Kuba is passionate about making sure the Magento community stays a positive and open platform for all to contribute and gain knowledge. One of the greatest assets of the Magento community is the strong commitment of the Magento Masters and Top Contributors to represent and promote the open source community. It is hard to ignore the immense time and effort they have volunteered over the years to create such a unique and special ecosystem.

The power of the Magento community is in its members; the people who answer forum questions, contribute to the documentation and codebase, organize meet-ups and any events big or small. The generosity of people passionate about open source software has led to the growth of a community with an immense knowledge base and expertise.

We’re thrilled to see Magento growing and evolving every year. Thanks for the recognition once again, and congrats to all the other Magento Masters and Contributors!
